1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms govern your access to and use of Campus Pesa (campuspesa.co.ke) operated by Campus Pesa (“we”, “us”). By registering or clicking “Sign Up”, you agree to a legally binding agreement.

2. Definitions

• “Student” — a registered user who applies for and completes gigs.
• “Client” — a registered user or entity that posts tasks.
• “Gig” — a discrete work assignment posted by a Client.
• “Wallet” — in-platform balance pending M-Pesa withdrawal.

3. Eligibility

To register as a Student you must: be at least 18 years old; be enrolled at an accredited Kenyan university; hold an active Safaricom M-Pesa account in your own name; and provide truthful registration information.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep it updated. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Each individual may hold one Student account and one Client account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access.

5. Platform Use

You agree not to: post false or fraudulent information; harass other users; circumvent the payment system by arranging direct payments; upload malware; scrape the platform without authorisation; post tasks involving illegal activity or academic fraud.

6. Student Obligations

• Submit only original work meeting client requirements
• Complete gigs by agreed deadlines or communicate delays promptly
• Maintain honest communication through the Platform only
• Not solicit Clients for work outside the Platform during or within 6 months of a gig
• Maintain a minimum rating of 3.0 stars

7. Client Obligations

• Provide clear, accurate gig briefs with scope, budget, and deadline
• Review submitted work within 5 business days (failure to do so constitutes automatic approval)
• Fund the gig budget in full at time of posting (held in escrow)
• Provide specific reasons for any rejection

8. Payments & Fees

How payments work

Clients fund gigs upfront into escrow. Upon approval, the agreed amount is credited to the Student’s wallet. Students receive 100% of the agreed amount — no deductions. Campus Pesa charges Clients a transparent service fee displayed at posting.

Withdrawals

Free plan: processed within 24 hours. Pro plan: instant. Minimum withdrawal: KSh 50.

Taxes

Students are solely responsible for declaring and paying any taxes on their earnings under Kenyan tax law.

9. Dispute Resolution

Either party may raise a dispute within 48 hours of a rejection or payment issue by emailing hello@campuspesa.co.ke. Campus Pesa will review evidence from both parties and issue a decision within 7 business days. Our decision is final and binding.

10. Intellectual Property

Upon full payment and Client approval, IP rights to delivered work transfer to the Client unless the brief states otherwise. Students warrant that submitted work is original and does not infringe third-party rights.

11. Limitation of Liability

Campus Pesa is a marketplace platform, not a party to gig contracts. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed fees paid by that user in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for Terms violations. Outstanding wallet balances will be paid to your registered M-Pesa within 30 days of termination, unless subject to a dispute or obtained fraudulently.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nairobi, Kenya.
